University of Florida Simulator Gators Take Top Honors in IIE/RA Student Competition
This year's simulation contest was the most competitive so far, with 88 initial teams narrowed down to the 3 final teams who competed at the IIE Conference in Cancun, Mexico. The stakes were raised this year as the prize money for the first-place team was increased to $5000. The winning teams were:
1st place: Simulator Gators - University of Florida
2nd place: Olympiakos - Lehigh University
3rd place: Innovative Thinkers - Seoul National University of Technology
Fifth edition of Simulation with Arena textbook
The fifth edition of the widely adopted university textbook Simulation with Arena (copyright 2010, ISBN 978-0-07-337628-8) retains the basic outline and tutorial style of the previous versions, built around a sequence of successively more complicated examples. All examples and discussion were modified and updated for version 13.0 of the Arena software, and additional examples have been developed, along with more exercises.
A software CD is no longer supplied with the textbook. Instead, the Arena student software and example files discussed in the book are available through the McGraw-Hill Web site: http://www.mhhe.com/kelton. This academic software can be installed on any university computer as well as on students’ computers. It is intended for use in conjunction with this book for the purpose of learning simulation and Arena. You have the right to use and make copies the software for academic use for teaching and research purposes only. Commercial use of the software is prohibited. Software support is supplied only to the registered instructor via the instructions provided at the textbook Web site.
